Winners of offroad events in Vietnam

Historic results of Vietnam competitions

We have compiled a spreadsheet of competition winners in Vietnam. This is the best we can do so far, but we would love volunteers to help us get this data going as far back in history as possible.

Please email jon@tigitmotorbikes.com with entries that you would like to have added.

My analysis of the data so far

It doesn't take rocket science to say that if Vietnam had a points-based league, "Tao" from "Tao Workshop" would be at the top. Consistently coming first and second at every race he enters.

We can also see the arrival of Ben Spill in 2023. A man from the United Kingdom with a motocross background. His entrance to Vietnam has given Tao a run for his money, and they are battling together for first and second place in every competition.

Interestingly, Tao has an Enduro background, and Ben has a Motocross background. Ben is more likely to win if a race is set up MX style. If an event is set up in Enduro style, then Tao is more likely to win.

I am looking forward to the day when we can place bets on these two!

As for teams, we can see "Western Enduro" have multiple different riders with the skillset to finish in the top places of the open and semi-open teams. If you are an up-and-coming rider, perhaps this is a good team to reach out to for training!

Dirt town racing has also recently landed itself in the top places, but this is mostly due to Ben Spill's arrival.

The issue with Vietnam and sponsorship

Companies like Tigit and Chrunix do have some money. Not alot, but some! We would love to sponsor riders and teams.

However, events are created on Facebook, organized on Facebook, and ultimately, they die on Facebook. All your wonderful pictures are lost, and all the history of who won and why, is also lost. Ultimately there is no documentation and no sponsorship value for the riders and teams.

My advice to the Vietnam community is to get off Facebook and start organizing events through websites. This will create a lot more value for sponsorship.

At Chrunix we would love to help fix this situation!
